Just SEVEN more days of school!  How can that be?  Please join us at the last PTA meeting of the year – Monday, May 21st, 6:30pm, in the Cafeteria – to hear about all that we – AS A SCHOOL, WORKING TOGETHER – have accomplished throughout the year…and meet your new PTA Officers, hear their ideas for next year and give them some of your own to think about over the summer.

Thanks to your donations we were able to contribute a sizable amount of technology, science materials, teacher supplies, Workroom supplies (laminator), and capital improvements (new floor mats, outdoor benches, wall strips to hang artwork)…and now we can announce that we will be fulfilling our obligations for the year – as voted on by you – by providing a shade structure to the “big kid” playscape!  Our inquiries into erecting a shade structure led to the discovery that the “big kid” playscape would need replacing due to new safety compliance standards.  So, AISD will be installing a brand new playscape over the summer – complete with an integrated shade structure, costing us a fraction ($3,000) of our budgeted amount ($20,000).  In addition, Ms. Butler was able to request that two pieces of equipment be exchanged for more appropriate ones, as well as have the colors be coordinated with the kinder playscape.

Finally, thank you, Christa Achilles and her team of faithful volunteers, and Coach Patrick and Coach Torrence, for another amazing year of Track & Field!  The rain (as welcome as it should be!) caused quite a headache with several reschedulings – but in the end, everyone had lots of fun!
