2014 “Milo’s Beach Party” Spring Festival

By now the dust (or was it seaside sand?) has settled on our Spring Festival. I feel safe in predicting that we put on a delightful event that raised an outstanding amount to help Mills Elementary during the 2014-15 school year.

Putting on an elaborate event requires a lot of coordination, sponsorship, and volunteer support. Please join me in thanking the following:

National Library Week
April 13-19 marks National Library Week - the theme is “Lives change @ your library.” The American Library Association encourages you to tweet about how the library has changed your life using the hashtag #LivesChange and #NLW14 - if you’re not on Twitter, you may still share your stories about libraries and librarians on Facebook or anywhere you find an audience.

My favorite library growing up was on wheels: it came to a small crossing on the road every other week in the summer, and brought a ton of stuff (literally!) to read. Those librarians put on a lot of miles on country roads to help entertain and educate people through books and magazines, and I'm glad they were there. What’s your personal story?

This Monday, April 13th, is Mills Day at Waterloo Ice House Escarpment Village. 10% of ALL DAY sales from Mills families will be donated to our school. Please remember to write "Mills" on your bill!

Thanks,
Dana Bacon
Mills PTA Vice-President, 2013-14
