The Mills PTA website is updated weekly with current information and events around Mills. The goal is to have the Mills PTA website be a single source of information to our Mills families.
Hip, hip, hippity hop! We hope everyone had an enjoyable 3 day weekend! Whether you spent time with family and friends, searched for Easter eggs, or just chilled with the kiddos – it’s always nice just to have that extra day. So…EARTH DAY is here again! Each year, April 22nd we celebrate Earth Day, this is the time to demonstrate our support for environmental protection. Even though this day was founded in the United States it is now celebrated worldwide as International Mother Earth Day. We believe our children, the next generation, have the opportunity to make a global difference. But, this can only be done by us teaching them! We are very lucky to have PTA Committee Chairs like Jeff Crunk and Samantha Chang, who are exceptional leaders that encourage and enrich our children’s knowledge of the small eco-friendly things we can do daily to make a difference on this planet. The Mills community is invited to attend an open discussion with AISD trustee Robert Schneider from 6 - 8 PM on Thursday, April 24 in the Kiker Elementary cafeteria about the status of plans to build a new high school in south Austin. We’re still crunching the numbers, writing out the checks for our vendors, and receiving money from Silent Auction items. However, at a glance the festival income at this time seems to be around $33K! This is fantastic! And, expenses are currently in the vicinity of about $8-11K, so…it appears not only did we have a fabulous time at the spring festival, but we also had a very successful spring festival! THANK YOU again to all our parent, staff, student and community volunteers, we could not have done it without you! Plus our fantastic sponsors who donated not only their money but, their time as well! Ya’ll are the greatest!

April 21st – PTA General Meeting 7pm (Officer Elections)
April 22nd – Earth Day! Bike or Walk to school all week (weather permitting)!
April 23rd – Administrative Professionals Day (Be sure to recognize our fantastic office staff!)
April 24th – Spirit Day at Firehouse Subs & Yo-Way (drop your receipts in buckets!)
And the following week is Track and Field, plus the Library Spring Book Fair ~ Let’s spring into action at Mills!!!
