Hello Mountain Lions,
I don't know why it's taken so long to get me to address you all in this format. Thanks to Shelley McNamara for prompting this.
Please read over the Head Lice Information that is posted below. Feel free to consult me at any time regarding this, and other health concerns. There is also addition information about head lice on the AISD website that will explain the district policy.
Although it's still pretty warm outside, it's getting close to flu season. Flu shots are available in most medical practice offices as well as grocery pharmacies, Walgreens, and CVS stores. Think seriously about getting the family vaccinated against this wicked illness, especially if there are any underlying health issues (asthma, other respiratory issues, diabetes, etc). Flu spreads rapidly throughout classrooms once it's introduced. Good hand washing is THE MOST IMPORTANT technique we have to protect our selves and others. Teach your children good cough and sneeze etiquette as well (into your elbow and not your hands). I have already discussed this with many of the classes and the teachers (fantastic group!!!) have gone over this too. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns you might have.
Thanks!
Nurse Kelly
